Homemade Cinnamon Creamed Honey: A Taste of Home

ree

There’s something truly special about taking something straight from nature and transforming it into a treat that brings something special to the table. For me, that’s honey. Fresh from my hives here in Jackson County, Kansas, this golden sweetness is already a gift from the bees—but when it’s whipped into creamed honey and mixed with a hint of cinnamon, it becomes downright irresistible.

What is Creamed Honey?

Creamed honey is honey, mixed with a starter. The starter is actually just crystalized honey. It's not crystalized like the honey in your pantry though, it's a teeny tiny crystals. After mixing (I use a drill and concrete mixer. :) ) the starter honey, the runny honey, and cinnamon, I bottle it up in beautiful hex jars with gold lids and put it into a wine fridge at 57 degrees for at least 6 days.

After 6 days the creamed honey is done! It spreads like butter and I am obcessed with making it.

Why Cinnamon?

Cinnamon is the perfect companion to honey. It adds a cozy, warm spice that makes you think of fresh-baked cinnamon rolls, autumn mornings, and holiday kitchens. Blending this natural spice into creamed honey creates a flavor that’s both familiar and unique—comforting enough to enjoy daily, but special enough to share as a gift.

How to Enjoy Cinnamon Creamed Honey

  • Spread it on toast or biscuits for a quick breakfast that feels like a treat. It's amazing on sour dough.

  • Stir it into tea or coffee for a natural sweetener with a spicy twist.

  • Pair it with fruit or cheese for a simple but elevated snack.

  • Sneak a spoonful straight from the jar (no judgment here!).

A Taste of Home

This cinnamon creamed honey is more than just a spread—it’s a taste of homegrown goodness. It reflects the work of the bees, the richness of Kansas soil that grew the millions of flowers, and the joy of creating something worth sharing. Whether you’re enjoying it with your morning coffee or giving it as a gift, each jar carries with it a little piece of sunshine from Jackson County.
