Join me this summer for hands on art and photography classes!
I've been working on this idea for a long time and I am excited to finally move forward!
Working in the art room the past 2.5 years was a huge (unexpected) blessing. Getting to be creative and often messy with the kids was good for my soul! It was the very thing I didn't know I needed!
I firmly believe that we are all made in the image and likeness of a God (Genesis 1:26-27). He is so creative! I mean, have you seen an emu, flamingo, or an axolotl? Can you imagine how much fun our Creator had drawing these up? Because we were made in His likeness I believe that we are ALL made to create! I find so much joy when I use my hands to paint, take pictures, put together a flower bed, draw, mold clay, the list goes on and on! I find even more joy helping others (especially kids!) discover how fun it is to create so this feels like a natural move for me to make. I'm excited to come up with my own classes and art kits!
Drawing, painting, & mixed media Art Camp - These classes are designed with summer in mind and I'm excited to get creative with the kids again! Art supplies are provided. Don't wear your good clothes kids! These classes aren't age specific but I'd say 6-10 year olds would be what I'm gearing this class for.
Photography - Learn the basics of composition and camera settings that will up your photography to the next level! I would say this class is good for ages 10 and up. A digital SLR or mirrorless camera is great but not required for this beginner class. An iPhone, or point and shoot will work too
Dates:
June 19th, 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm - Light Seekers - Kids Photography Class
June 26th, 9:00 am -11:00 am - Summer Art Camp
July 24th, 9:30-11:00 - Light Seekers - Kids Photography Class
I'd also love to offer a July photo class for adults and a toddler - pre k art class, if I have enough interest. Please contact me if you'd like to be on that list!
Private lessons: I've had some inquiries about private art lessons and I am considering it! These would be offered as a small group with one on one attention and instruction during our time together. Again, please contact me if you are interested. It's really difficult to know if there's enough interest and it's so helpful if we can chat about it!
I've felt like God has been nudging me and I finally am just going to see what happens. As a creative type, I really struggle with getting the ball rolling sometimes. I doubt myself, or I am just too busy being a taxi and at the end of the day, I didn't get to be creative or make time to set up the classes I want to teach. These schuled times are for me too! I love teaching art and expieriencing the creative process with kids of all ages.
You were made to create! Don't forget it!
